Freedom

Every generation has its own interpretation of freedom, and we can not pass it
to the next generation. To obtain the freedom, you must fight and protect your
achievement. Someone consider having the civil rights as a freedom. Lets distinguish
different meanings of freedom among the woman. Ones seek freedom in the
equality with men, and many women take part in the movements for women civil rights and became
successful in their efforts. They became free form men’s dominance in  life, carrier,
money, politics etc. However, for the others , who suffer domestic violence   on a daily basis,  freedom is the way to abuse and be save.
So, many parents do not want the same fate for their kids, and everyone must find
their own way to be happy and free. Freedom is a subject of sacrifice, and can not be
given as a gift or inheritance. Certainly, the precede generations made a huge efforts
in different fights for civil rights, and we have them as gifted. However, each
individual must admit his own meaning of  a freedom,  what make you happy and
 free…

White Bubble

What is this white bubble we live in? A semi-permeable wall dissolving over time. It's been many ages since the bubble started accepting "outsiders". Now all I see are Asians, Hispanics, Blacks and everything else but White. Where are you? Did you get lost in the crowd of life? You go to school with other Asians, you live where Hispanic people live and you Shop where other Black people shop. You want the good life? Is this what it is? No longer is there a difference between us. Non racism,  no sight through  old lenses. Look beyond the tradition. This is life now. You live where people live, you go to school where people go to school and you shop where other people shop. You live the good life.

Infinite Half-Life

"The half-life of Love is forever" - Junot Diaz

Love isn't your average unstable element. It's half-life is infinite and will never cause a meltdown. It brings you the power of energy. Like a nuclear power plant run on ions. Love is your perfect power source. It runs your life. Whether you love food, architecture, people, or even if you love to hate. It keeps you alive; living. Ion's are not abundant. You have to search for them tirelessly or create them. Love shouldn't be thrown around at every moment of liking something. An overused term, one that requires revamping or rejuvenation. When I say "I love you" I want it to mean the world; and not I love pizza. I can only wish love to have an infinite half-life. But in reality, as the days go by, love will become a powerless element. It will only truly exist in the heart and not as a vibration in the air. In the future, even attempting to use love as a means for affection will render your statement useless, powerless.

PRISON: A HIDDEN FREEDOM

Prison, in a sense is a world to be carefree. No bills to pay, no job to wake up early for, and no stress of what to watch on television. What is there to worry about? In prison you have total security, someone is always on your case just like your mother. In prison, your are given a place to lay your head, given clothes on your back, medical attention, and three meals a day. But when you think about it, are all these luxuries worth your freedom? Your lively hood ? A piece of mind? In actuality, even your mind is now in imprisonment. You cannot breathe fresh air even on the court for recess and your mind cannot process a free thought. But, if a person can say that the basic essentials of life is worth the lack of freedom of the mind and body, then they will forever be imprisoned.

"Education is simpy the soul of society...

"Education is simply the soul of society as it passes from one generation to the next."-Gilbert Chesterton

It is said that when you die your soul lives on free to roam. As you meet and interact with people on a day to day basis something said or taught is instilled in you. Education can give you authority, recognition, and leadership that can help you overcome obstacles that have been fought before. Education is something acquired and passed down so the new generation has the knowledge to surpass these things. Education is our soul and we feed it by passing knowledge of what we know to educate. It is also the foundation of where a society is built and where a generation is born. Educate comes from the word education and if we do not educate our society it can not be passed on from one generation to the next.

Life Lottery.

Jamie Goldstein
Writing II
Prompt 3

Life is a lottery. It’s a game of chance. No it’s not fair, that’s the point. We are only as fortunate as the circumstances we are born into. Sure, there’s the odd tale of the poor young boy who works hard and, against the odds, finds success, but he’s the exception, not the rule. I’m not in NYU because I’m exceptionally smart, I’m here because I was born into a family that could pay for a good education for me. I was born into a family that would foster my curious mindset. I won the lottery.
Not all of us can win though. If you’re born in Africa, well, sorry. Maybe you’ll live to 50 if you’re lucky. But I can guarantee you that no matter how hard you work, you’re not going to advance your station in life very much. If you’re born in a good neighborhood in suburban America, with good schools and good kids, you’ll probably do well. Otherwise, good luck. You can try to act like a white suburbanite, but without an extraordinary effort, living out the classical American Dream can be almost impossible. It’s not your fault, it’s just chance. You just lost the lottery.

Freedom

Freedom is not from our blood, we must obtain it, no, we must take it. From generations to generations my ancestors did not wait for freedom to be pass down, the ambition to fight for it was more likely to be passed down. What is freedom? Is it something we just gain or is it an action that is desired? To be free is to be yourself at your own will. However in my generation we desire freedom even from our own blood but how many people from my generation actually fight for it? Instead we just wait for it to come with an additional gift of respect. Our freedom should be fought through vocal cords with the minus of explict language. Our freedom should be protected not through locks and keys, but with the knowledge of knowing ourselves. That's when we shall pass it down to the next generation.
